Ancillary Tasks: Call Sheets

- As the director of our production/my own ancillary tasks the call sheets were extremely important in order to ensure all shooting ran smoothly. I printed out copies of the call sheets and handed them to all members of the cast and crew of our production/my ancillary tasks.
- Also, the call sheets are helpful for the cast and crew to understand and acknowledge how the day on set is going to run, for example they clear up any concerns about location and provide directions to the set. Also, they clear up concerns about props, makeup and costume.

Main Task/Ancillary Tasks: Audience Feedback

Post Production Focus Group:

nvddkvndv,
Here is a focus group we put together post - production, we gathered a selection of people within our

In order to gain audience feed back on our main task and ancillary tasks, we gathered a group of peers within our target market (of 16-21 year olds) and questioned them about our main production (the music video for Sundara Karma - A Young Understanding) and our ancillary tasks (digipak and magazine advertisement).

Main Task: Construction of Video

Main Task: Treatment

- Colour treatment is extremely important within our main production, as the director of our peice my main challenge is portraying our theme of youth subcultures consistently. I believe steps like colour treatment are important in this process, for example the constant use of an orange toned filter, in my opinion, portrays the theme of youth due to its bright, warm, fun tones - if we were to use cooler toned filter our music video would begin to look washed out and darker, deferring away from our theme of youth and conforming to 'darker' themes (e.g sadness or depression).

Main Task: Location Permission

For the majority of locations we used within our production (a teenagers bedroom, the park, an exam hall) we did not need to obtain permission - however, a few of the scenes feature a 'gig' setting, this was filmed at the Camden Assembly, as it is a privately owned company we needed to obtain permission before using the 'gig' scene footage and potentially uploading the video to a website such as YouTube or Vimeo, this also prevents potentially being copy righted.

Here is the email I sent to Camden Assembly:

Here is the response I received:

Main Task/Ancillary Task: Location Release Forms

- Location release forms are useful for all members of the cast and crew, they verify that we have the permission to record our cast within such locations. This is important as it avoids possible risks such as bein copy righted. As the director of our product I have taken on a lot of responsibilities in terms of the cast and crew, if anyone on set has any concerns or questions - by providing forms such as location release forms, it clears up any concerns our cast and crew may have.

Main Task: Audio Permission

Here is the email that we sent to Sundara Karma's record label RCA Records, we sent this email to obtain permission to use the song 'A Young Understanding' within our production.
