Ideals For a Promotional Package For The Release of an Album

Digipak Examples:

1. The XX - Coexist
This album cover by The XX really interested me, I like the contrast of colours between the plain white back ground and the bold colourful X. I think that a cover like this could link in with some of our ideas, such as the Drugs idea due to the surreal look of the X surrounded by the blank whiteness - it could show the effects of drug, which are essentially negative thus the X acts as a warning, telling people to stay away.

2. Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am, Thats What Im Not
This album cover by Arctic Monkeys would also fit in with some of our themes such as Youth Subcultures and Drug Abuse - I especially like the actual CD itself and the fact that its covered in cigarettes, I feel like this could help influence our CD cover. The use of a man on the front cover smoking a cigarette too is interesting, and perhaps this could fit in with our theme but instead a youth smoking a cigarette. Whilst I thought that bright colours would help further the theme of drugs or subcultures, the dulled down grey and black and white tones help give the digpak and gritty feel.

3. Bombay Bicycle Club - A Different Kind Of Fix
This album cover by Bombay Bicycle Club  is really interesting, I really like the artwork on it and the features of the human bodies. I think that this cover could relate to all 3 of our themes, for example Drugs - this could help show the effect of drugs and the effect they have on the brain (e.g colourful etc), Youth Subcultures - it could help show the fun colourful side of youth, Feminism - it could help show how under the skin, regardless of gender, were all the same.
